Ryan: Vodafone UK also to offer the iPhone 3G and 3GS
The move came the day after rival Orange became the first operator to break into O2's exclusive deal.
Without securing the rights to the iPhone, Vodafone face the prospect of loosing hudreds of thousands of customers to other rivals O2 and Orange. Its believed that Vodafone may have lost 159,000 customers in the last quarter due to the iPhone.
Its expected that both Vodafone and Orange will be selling the device by the end of the year.
Virgin mobile are also understood to be desperate to secure the rights to sell the iPhone.
